LIWWA: Love Is What We Are, implements a practical and sustainable solution to obtaining clean water. "We don't need $70 water filters," Mishra said. I liked her resourcefulness. She wanted to nourish, fertilize and quench Ghana's thirst by way of Mother Nature. Mishra is also a volunteer and advocate for the event, Walk Across Michigan To Raise Money For Community Art, aka WAMCA. Okay, so what does LIWWA and WAMCA have to do with Ghana, water, culture and caring? Well, the great thing about philanthropy is good work leads you to good people. Mishra's latest endeavor was raising awareness for a 220-mile trek across the state...all in the name of love, social justice and education. Watch this video to find out more about WAMCA, what they do and how you can get involved. You can also read this article by The Young Nonprofit Professions Network of Grand Rapids to get the scoop on what WAMCA is doing for our international friends.
