FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Internationally inspired, locally designed
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., January 25, 2011-- Fashion-savvy women won’t have to travel to New York City to indulge in couture. An internationally inspired, high fashion brand will be making its mark right here in Grand Rapids. Haus of Leisure by Le Garçon LaFrance goes beyond novelty fashions. The designs cater to the “bold and confident woman who isn’t afraid to take risks,” said Matt Jurecic, designer and creative director. Jurecic, who studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, believes Grand Rapids has an untapped market of women who demand high fashion, however, “…sometimes they get stuck in the easy way of thinking, so they end up shopping mainstream and they become dissatisfied. That’s where Haus of Leisure comes in,” Jurecic said. The label’s mission is to create a unique, exclusive line for the woman who wants to convey her personality through high fashion. Haus of Leisure’s Spring 2011 collection will feature elegant evening gowns. The line will highlight “classic silhouettes with interest focused on the fabric selection and avant-garde details.” Since age nine, Jurecic’s creative designs have developed into a mix of ‘20’s and ‘30’s glamour with the boldness and function of 1950’s. Haus of Leisure’s style is influenced by the simplicity of everyday life, as well as his mentors. Designers such as Christian Dior, Tom Ford and the late Alexander McQueen also inspire his work. Save yourself from buying tickets to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and experience Haus of Leisure’s debut collection: “The Women,” at the JW Marriott’s Little Black Dress party, at 9 p.m. on February 12.
